Q. Does my data get backed up?
A. ATG uses two layers of backup to ensure that your data will never be lost. First, the data is
backed up to our backup servers. Second, it is backed up to our offsite backup server
located outside our Datacenter.
Q. Will my applications work on Green Desktop?
A. 99% of applications will run on Green Desktop no matter what operating system platform
they are based on.
Q. Is my data secure?
A. Your data is encrypted from the servers at the Datacenter to the end user’s monitor. Since
the thin units do not have a hard drive, if they are stolen there is no way any unauthorized
person can access your data.
Q. What happens if my internet connection goes down?
A. Your work may be interrupted until the internet connection is restored. However, once
the connection is restored you can pick up exactly where you left off. There are ways to
prevent this from occurring, such as redundant internet connections from multiple providers.
Q. What if I lose my smart card or forget my password?
A. You smart card holds no data. Simply give us a call and we will cancel the old card; you
will be able to use one of the extra cards provided to your school. We are also able to reset
your password over the phone so that you can have immediate access to your desktop.
Q. Can I access Green Desktop on my traditional computer from home?
A. Yes. You can access your Green Desktop securely from any computer with an
internet connection.
Q. What happens if one or several of my thin units are damaged or
destroyed?
A. Nothing. Since no data is stored on the thin unit, no data will be lost.
Simply go to another thin unit in the school and continue your work until the damaged
unit is replaced. |
